On Linux, the BSDs and MacOSX, an X-Server is required.
If you want to use Windows installers you only need GTK+

• Python Python 2.x or greater

• Psyco (Speeds up Python Code execution)

• The TrayIcon is a Python module the requires the development packages of PyGTK, GTK2 and Python as well as GCC.
  
  
  Python 1.2.7.1 no longer requires the Trayicon module if you have PyGTK 2.10 and GTK 2.10
  
  
  The Trayicon on Windows uses PyWin32
